Glen is the founder and President of Harbor Research, a management consulting firm with offices in San Francisco, Boston, and London. Harbor Research focuses on the strategic issues faced by suppliers and adopters of high technology products and services. Since the firm’s inception in 1983, Glen has worked closely with a broad spectrum of telecommunications, information systems, electronics, and automation companies in North America, Europe, and the Far East. Glen co-authored what is considered to be one of the most influential thought leadership pieces on the subject of smart services in the Harvard Business Review, October 2005, titled “Four Strategies in the Age of Smart Services.”
Glen received his B.A. from New York University and completed graduate studies at M.I.T.’s Center for Advanced Media Studies (forerunner of the Media Lab). He was a key participant in the planning and development of the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, has worked extensively with the SEMATECH consortia, and has consulted to the National Research Council on technology and competitiveness.
