Karl brings 40 years of experience in retail crime and loss prevention. He currently works as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Cincinnati’s School of Criminal Justice, where he instructs on retail loss prevention and corporate security. He currently serves on the Advisory Council for Graham Partners portfolio company, Gatekeeper.

Karl also currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Alto USA, where he worked previously as Executive Vice President and Vice President of Innovation. Karl has also held senior loss prevention-related roles for The Kroger Co. and Safeway. Prior to Safeway, he served as Deputy Sheriff and Deputy Constable for the County of Dallas, Texas.

Karl earned his B.A. in Political Science from The University of Texas at Arlington and went on to earn his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is board certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the American Society of Industrial Security a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) awarded by the Center for Interviewer Standards & Assessments and Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) by the Loss Prevention Foundation.
